Snetterton Half Marathon 2019

With cool temperatures and barely any wind, the conditions for the Snetterton Half Marathon (3 laps of the circuit) couldn’t have been better for the three BVH members – Michael Eccles, Simon Bales and Simon Partridge – on the start line on 17 November.  Looking for a sub-75 minute time, Michael made his intentions clear right from the off, leading…

George Munday 10k 2019

At The George Munday 10k Simon Partridge smashed his 10k time by almost 2 minutes running a diamond standard time of 33.56. Simon was second overall and first 35-39. Excellent run Simon and really well deserved. Both first and second overall broke  the course record.

Houghton Hall Cross Country 2019

We had 10 members tackling this tough but excellent spectator friendly 5 mile race. The 3 lap course consists of ups, downs and steps making it a good bit of winter training. Our medal winners were Louise Paterson 2nd vet lady in 38.28. Hannah Stone 1st u/20 lady in 39.32. Billy Eccles, running 3k, was 3rd u/13 boy in 13.09.  Other results…

Regents Park and Billericay 10k

Gail and Kevin Hardingham travelled to London to run in the Regents Park 10k and with quite a bit of success. Gail was 1st female 60+ in 51.01 and Kev, running in his BVH vest as second claim, was 3rd 60+ in 46.19. Another member running further afield was Leanne Botwright who ran the Billericay 10k. Leanne was hoping to…

Bedford Running Festival 2019

There were three BVH members – Leanne Botwright, Greg Howard and Simon Partridge – taking part in the Bedford Running Festival 2019, a three day event which takes place in a beautiful country park within the town. That meant the courses took in tarmac, loose gravel and grass sections, but they were flat and an ideal hunting ground for some…

Lord Mayor’s 5K – 2019

The Lord Mayor’s 5K is one of Norfolk’s most eagerly anticipated races, run on a tough, 2 lap course through Norwich city centre. Unusually, entry requires runners to have a PB of either 20min (men) or 22min (women) and during the race, runners not on target for those times are pulled out at 3K, both bringing additional pressure to the event.…

Edinburgh Marathon 2019

Fenella Sunaway had a very eventful and emotional Edinburgh marathon. She was hoping to run 3.20.00 but the weather conditions of rain and high winds put paid to that so considering this her time of 3.33.25 was excellent. A gel too many didn’t help the situtation as she was sick at 22 miles but once she settled did pick it…

Holt 10k 2019

No personal best times today in the Holt 10k which isn’t really surprising on this tough course. Phil Hurr, once again on the podium, finished 1st in the M60-64 category in 41.05. Frank Gribben was next in for BVH and 4th in the M65-69 age group in 49.26. Sarah Bird ran 51.48. Gail Hardingham with another trophy to add to…

Wroxham 5k -1st in series May 2019

The weather conditions and the new fast finish were obviously a help to our 18 members taking part as, between them, they achieved 8 pb’s, 1 EQ pb, 5 age bests, 3 age records and 3 trophies. Results as follows:- Jack Noble 17.25 gold standard pb. Matt Stone 17.30 (eq pb) diamond standard and age best. Jake Stearman 17.49 gold…
