London Marathon 2021

BVH had two members running The Lonod Marathon and both as first time marathoners. Leanne Botwright had an excellent run finishing in a bronze standard time of 4.11.55. She messaged me to say she loved it, so my reply was “let’s go for sub 4 next year and her reply was “I knew you would say that”. Luke Paterson only…

Round Norfolk Relay 2021

After a year off it was great to be taking part in the RNR and once again the BVH team ran their hearts out with the following results:- The winning trophies Stage 4. Phil Hurr retained his trophy from 2019 by winning the Darryl Davies award for the best age-graded performance on this leg. Stage 11. Callum Bowen-jones won the…

Wymondham 20 miles & Brighton 10k

With only 12 weeks of training under his belt, which started with a 5 mile run, Luke Paterson ran the “Wymondham 20″today finishing in 3.27.14. I’m not sure I should mention his sore legs but all I will say is “never wear shorts for a long run that have not been tried and tested or new shoes”!! This is part…

Wissey Half Marathon 2021

After some hoped for cooler weather, it wasn’t to be, as today turned out to be a scorcher.   Richard Johnson running his first half marathon for BVH finished in a gold standard time of 1.30.17. Richard was on a steady run today and had set himself a target of 1.30.00 – so that was pretty good pacing. Jack Noble was…

Gear 10k & Mini-Gear 2021

The Gear 10k was another race that was rescheduled due to Covid but unfortunaley this coincided  with other races so we only had 4 members taking part in the 10k and two in the mini-gear. 10K Alice Grant ran a silver standard personal best time of 47.48. Bob Carter took 10 seconds off his club 60-64 age time to run…

Edale Ring of Hell Half Marathon

This was a toughie !! Although it states half marathon it was, in fact, 16.2 miles with definitley more ups than downs but Katherine Garwood had a great run to finish in 4 hours 1 min. In Katherine‘s words “It was tough in places but the views and lovely people more than made up for it – loved every minute!!”
