Gt Yarmouth 5m Race 3 – May 2026

Conditions were far better for fast running than the last two races and, although a bit cold, the wind for once wasn’t a problem. This helped our members run some excellent times. We had numerous pb’s and age best times and also won the ladies team prize with Leanne, Belle and Peggy.

Simon Partridge running his first 5 mile race for over 4 years was 2nd V40-44 in 28.17 and not far off his pb.
Leanne Finch, running yet another race, was second lady and first senior lady in a 24 second platinum pb time of 28.27.
Robert Hirst ran a gold standard 50 second pb of 29.13.
Alastair Leckie ran a gold age best time of 30.32.
Lee Quibell ran 30.58.
Matthew Crane ran a gold standard pb time of 32.30.
Joanne Watkins ran a gold standard age best time of 32.56.
William Simpson ran 34.35.
Amy Balaam, running her first race since the marathon, ran 36.24.
Kevin Hardingham eventually cracked an age best 65-69 diamond standard time of 38.26.
Belle Watkins ran 39.18.
Peggy Baldwin, on her first run after giving birth, was hoping for 43mins but had a great run to finish in 39.26.
Dennis Simpson ran a gold standard pb time of 40.42.
Leslie Hill ran 40.59.
Poppy Balaam was second 15-17 in 46.51.

Well done all. Great running.
