Three of our members took on this Leeds city centre route. It promised to be a quick course with a fairly flat 5km out, one U turn and the 5km back. It was a cool, fresh 9.30am start for the race. It proved to be a quick course.
Ryan Davison ran a PB time of 33:39, finishing 201. He should be chuffed with his new PB and is looking at bettering this performance in a few weeks’ time at The Telford 10k. It was good to see Ryan working off a 3 week deep chesty cold.
Jack Noble knocked over 2 minutes off his PB to finish in 34:42, position 284. He went off at a reasonable pace 5:45 min/miles but was able to up this to 5:25 min/miles for the 2nd 5km. With this sort of pace, there will be plenty more to come from him.
Faith Vinney, ran 38:27 which comes on the back of 2 months of very little training, the life of a newly qualified doctor! Faith did well to post this time and we hope, once her schedule calms down, that she can get a good patch of training under her belt.
Post-race, bagels & scrambled egg with coffee was lapped down before the 4 hour drive back to Norfolk.
If anyone is looking for a quick 10k course in the future, definitely bare this course in mind – it offers a lot of PB potential.
