Round Norfolk Relay 2019

What a great result for the BVH RNR team.  Our overall time of 22.01.52 was almost 1 hour faster than 2018. We were the first small club, 4th Club Class and 7th team overall.

Scott Walford Stage 5.
Autumn Hales Stage 14.
Faith Viney Stage 17.

The Individual Awards went to:-
Phil Hurr “Darryl Davis Memorial Trophy” for best age graded on stage 4.
Scott Walford “Fat Birds Don’t Fly Trophy” for fastest time on stage 5.
Faith Viney senior ladies best age graded on stage 17.

Stage 1. Simon Bales. Kings Lynn to Hunstanton.

16.9 miles. Over tough terrain including shingle and sand.

Time 2 :16mins :43. Pace 8.05.

Stage 2. Ryan Davidson. Hunstanton to Burnham. 3rd overall.

13.75 miles. Including rough terrain, mud and a diversion.

Time 1.29.57. Pace 6.33.

Stage 3. Sabina Spence. Burnham to Wells. 3rd lady.

5.76 miles. With a lot of sand running.

Time 42.26. Pace 7.22

Stage 4. Phil Hurr. Wells to Cley. Best age-graded for the stage.

11.14 miles. Another hard off road leg.

Time 1.17.54. Pace 7.00.

Stage 5. Scott Walford. Cley to Cromer. 1st overall.

10.82 miles. This must be one of the hardest legs with sand, shingle, Beeston bump and much more.

Time 1.06.33. Pace 6.09.

Stage 6. Amy Balaam. Cromer to Mundesley. 2nd lady.

7.90 miles. This is another hilly, undulating tough course.

Time 59.22. Pace 7.31.

Stage 7. Paul Ward. Mundesley to Lessingham.

9.24 miles. A few undulations but not a bad course.

Time 1.00.31. Pace 6.33.

Stage 8. Jake Stearman. Lessingham to Horsey. 2nd overall.

7.52 Miles. Lovely flat route.

Time 45.17. Pace 6.01.

Stage 9. Arron Coe. Horsey to Belton.

16.60 Miles. A route running through Yarmouth. Not particularly nice.

Time 1.56.34. Pace 7.01.

Stage 10. Simon Partridge. Belton to Earsham. 4th overall.

18.13 Miles. A long and lonely road.

Time 1.51.24. Pace 6.09.

Stage 11. Jack Noble. Earsham to Scole.

12.45 Miles. Another dark and dreary route.

Time 1.20.00. Pace 6.26.

Stage 12. Michael Eccles. Scole to Thetford. 3rd overall.

19.67 Miles. The dreaded run by most runners. Long, dark and boring.

Time 1.55.32. Pace 5.52.

Stage 13. Matt Stone. Thetford to Feltwell.

13.25 Miles. Yet another boring route.

Time 1.26.01. Pace 6.30.

Stage14. Autumn Hales. Feltwell to Wissington. 1st lady.

7.27 Miles. The sunrise is on the way.

Time 47.28. Pace 6.36

Stage 15. Laurie Woods. Wissington to Downham Market.

10.59 Miles. Not and easy route with a long upward drag on the A10.

Time 1.13.38. Pace 6.57.

Stage 16. Fenella Sunaway. Downham Market to Stowbridge. 3rd lady.

5.49 Miles. A fast flat route.

Time 36.00. Pace 6.33.

Stage 17. Faith Viney. Stowbridge to Kings Lynn. 1st lady and best senior lady age-graded.

11.73 Miles. River banks, possibly bulls and goodness knows what else.

Time 1.16.02. Pace 6.29.

It was nice to see so many BVH supporters at the end and a lovely fry up was enjoyed by all.
