While watching the Gear 10k it looked as though, not only our runners, but quite a few others suffered with the heat on the last couple of miles with quite a few unhappy faces on the final 200m’s. Having said that there were some excellent results as follows:-
Laurie Woods, consistent as always, finished 12th overall and 10th male senior in 34.28.
Richard Johnson ran 36.29. I’m sure he’ll be out of the 36 min band soon.
Simon Bales, not quite hanging on to Richard, ran 36.40
Amy Beck, running her first 10k in a BVH vest, ran a platinum standard club record time of 37.41 and was 3rd lady overall.
Paul Ward ran a diamond standard pb time of 37.57.
Peter Woods ran a gold standard 50-54 age best time of 41.26.
Fran Cooke ran a diamond standard pb and age club record time of 42.13.
Nigel Arnold running his first race as a 65-69 finished in a platimum standard time of 42.20.
Mark Crookes, Another one who didn’t believe he could pb today, was really pleased when he took over a minute off his time to run a gold standard 43.29.
Alice Grant suffered today with a cold and sore throat but she did carry on to finish in 52.09.
Sally Porter, still on the come back and post covid trail ran 1.05.25.
Carl White unfortunately had to pull out with an ongoing ankle injury.
