Dereham 5k 2023

Apparently it was ideal conditions for racing so there was no complaining today. That’s a first.
There were 4 personal best times as follows:
Alastair Leckie ran an excellent diamond standard 17.39.
Lee Quibell ran a gold standard 19.08
Eleanor Chapman, the most excited I’ve ever seen anyone after achieving a pb, ran a silver standard 21.54. Her target this year was to break 22 mins – so a big well done Eleanor.
Peggy Baldwin having a roller coaster year ran a silver standard 22.20.
Other results
Paul Ward was 3rd 50+ in 18.56
Joanne Watkins, tough as always, ran 20.06
Fran Cooke 20.47 – hopefully this will be Fran’s last GP race.
Louise Paterson getting back to ful training ran 21.23
Mark Crookes running with Alice Grant ,who proved today that a fell race the week before is not the best pre-race training, both ran 23.10
Scott Chapman only 4 seconds adrift of a pb ran 23.17. An extra sprint would have done it.
Belle Watkins still struggling with a niggle ran 25.23
