It was another fantastic morning for Bure Valley Harriers at the 10th Norfolk Gazelles’ 2019 Valentine 10K, with members walking away with several prizes, personal bests, club and age group records.
There were 25 BVH runners on the start line for this year’s race, despite some suffering from persistent illnesses over recent few weeks, which has kept them off the road, along with other members, friends and family to cheer and support them, on what was a pleasant February morning, feeling more like spring than winter.
After brief announcements at the front of the race, it was a very quick “1-2-3” count before the field were on their way at 9:30am. Conditions on the course were pretty good, with plenty of sunshine, cool temperatures and just a little bit of a breeze at various points.
As runners went through the bright Norfolk countryside, residents were out encourage people as they passed, with a few posters on the way too. But the biggest cheers came as the undulating course entered its final kilometre and people pressed on and raced for the finish line.
