The Cross Country County Champs, run in near perfect conditions, once again proved successful for BVH. Of the seven members running 4 came away with County Medals.
In the very competitive senior mens 10.8k race Sam Coyne ran strongly to finish 10th in 40.00.
In the same race Lawrence Wade and Martin Hewetson had a battle going on with Martin coming out on top to win the 2nd 40+ county medal in 40.52 and Lawrence 3rd in 40.58.
Matt Stone ran a steady race, protecting his calf injury, but his commitment secured the team the bronze team medal.
The ladies ran a shorter but just as tough 6.4k course. Amy Balaam is certainly getting back into her running finishing 5th senior lady in 27.27. Another county medal came from Sarah Stubbs who was the 2nd lady 40+ in 29.15. Hannah Stone, running the same distance, finished 5th in the U/17’s girls event in 29.55.
Matthew Rogers ran the 2.8k U/13’s finishing 21st in 11.49.
Hopefully we can get a full squad out in the next county race.
