Well done to all 7 members running the Lord Mayors 5k. It has always been a tough race but the new course, with the uphill start and of course the very warm condiitons, proved more challenging than in previous years but that didn’t stop everyone running excellent times.
Sam Coyne (23rd) who has found his racing head again finished in a course pb of 16.23. Ryan Davidson (32nd) running the race for the first time ran an excellent 16.54. Close on his heels and in a course pb ofalmost a minute was Simon Partridge (33rd) in 16.57. It was lovely to see Chris Mickleburgh (36th) wearing his BVH vest for the first time and it was obviously very lucky for him as he ran, not only a course pb, but an overall 5k pb in 17.05. Matt Stone (86th) had a great run finishing in 18.23. He couldn’t have given anymore as he almost collapsed at the end although he did say he was going to take it easy!! Our pocket rocket, Faith Viney (10th lady), also a first timer ran 18.57 which, on that course, was superb. Another first timer, Laurie Woods(149th), set off steady and paced it well to finish very strongly in 19.40. Great running all. Once again you all did the club proud.
