The inter-counties is an event comprising of all the top UK athletes. It turned out to be ideal conditions with lovely sunshine and no mud to be seen anywhere, although there were a few hills to contend with.
We had four members competing:
First off was Joanne Watkins, who was running in the senior ladies team, and was part of the scoring Norfolk team who were 26th overall.
Next to go was Billy Eccles who had an outstanding run finishing 10th overall and only a minute off the winner! He was also first scorer for Norfolk with their team finishing 23rd.
Belle Watkins, who is getting stronger all the time and is progressing well after her recent operations had a strong finish overtaking quite a number of athletes on the home straight.
Last to go was Michael Eccles who, as a vet, was competing in the senior mens race to finish in 109th position. This is Michael’s 3rd ever best performance at the inter-counties. He was 3rd scorer for the Norfolk team who finished in 17th place.
