London Landmarks Half Marathon – April 2024

Leanne Botwright was in London on Sunday 7 April to run the Landmarks HM, Leanne reported: Such a fun event, the crowds and sights are spectacular 😍It was a bit windy in places, but the sun ☀️was shining! 24,514 people running today and it was nice to see some local vests and lots of encouragement! This is a great race…

Trowse 10k – April 2024

A big turn out for the “popular” Trowse 10k on Sunday 7 April.  Not one person said they enjoyed the run and we’re not surprised. We know it’s an undulating course but then add in the blustery conditions it made it impossible to run a pb time although there were some very near misses. Trophy winners were Michael, Carl, Amy…

National U/17 5k Road Race – April 2024

Billy Eccles, running a year under age, finished 3rd in 16.11.  Dad Michael reported: The top 2 got a big gap early on but Billy, who was in a group, had a battle for 3rd all the way round but he used his strength on the final hill, just before the home straight, to pull away from the others. It’s…

Fakenham 5k – March 2024

We had 11 members out for this Easter Sunday race.  This race is a great for spectators but not so good for the runners as it’s 5 laps with a hill thrown in and on a very twisting course, plus the front runners have to keep lapping the not so fast runners, so it’s certainly not a pb course. Although…

St Albans 10k – March 2024

We had one member out at the St Albans 10k on Good Friday but on what turned out to be a muddy course and in poor weather conditions, we’re sure Stephen Lee will be happy with his 10th 40+ place and his 43.09 time. His comment afterwards was “that was horrendous”!  Roll on the next race. Well done Stephen.

Wymondham 20 – March 2024

On what was a very windy day and on a tough course our 4 members, who were using this as part of their marathon training, finished in excellent times. You should all be really proud of yourselves: Tom Jordan ran a 4 min gold standard and club age best pb time of 2.12.12. His sprint finish was quite impressive. You’re…

Great Welsh Marathon – March 2024

At the Great Welsh marathon on Sunday 17th March Leanne Botwright finished in 4.24.32. We’re sure she will be really pleased with this result considering her disrupted training plan. Leanne says it was an out and back course. Ok on the way out but a head wind on the way back! Well done Leanne.

Blickling Half Marathon – March 2024

At the Blickling Half Marathon on Sunday 17th Henry Gurney ran 1.25.34, Joanne Watkins 1.33.51 (1st lady), Steph Laurence 1.36.31 (3rd lady) and Anna Holmes Gurney 1.47.12. As the course is mainly off road it doesn’t hold a UKA licence so the results will not be included on Power of 10 or our club records. Well done all.

Vale of York 5m – March 2024

In the Vale of York 5m race Eleanor Chapman had a cracking run to finish 4th senior lady in a silver standard time of 34.44. This was Eleanor’s first 5m for BVH. Within the same race she ran a sub 21.00 5k too! Well done EC.
