Beth King was using this race as a last long run before the Chicago marathon in 2 weeks times. That will be Beth’s 3rd marathon of the year. The conditions proved very hard as it turned out to be a really hot day but she got round unscathed and felt strong at the end.
I do remember her saying to me after the Manchester Marathon in 2024 that it would be her last and would concentrate on short faster races. I’m now wondering what she will do in 2026 !!!!
