London Marathon – April 2026

Once again, like last year, the sun decided to make an appearance which made the going tough especially with the late start times. Having said that everyone had excellent results.

Rebecca Moore was on for sub 3 until about 20 miles and then the conditions caught up with her but she still had a great run to finish in a ladies gold standard club record time of 3:13:03.
Amy Balaam, running her first marathon, was on track for her hoped for 3.45 time but that all changed at 22 miles when she began to struggle but she still ended up with an excellent silver standard 3:56:59. Amy says she doesn’t ever want to run another one. Give her a few days and she’ll change her mind!
Alice Grant running a perfectly paced race and on her first marathon ran a bronze standard 4:05:14. She has just sent me a message to say she loved it and can’t wait to run another one!
Leanne Botwright, who broke her ankle earlier in the year, was still determined to get to the start line and run her first marathon as a 40 year old. I had not doubts she would make it. She finished in a bronze standard 4:29:10.

Brilliant running ladies!
