The severe weather conditions obvioulsy hadn’t hit Cambridge as badly as Norfolk as the roads were relatively snow free. We were dreading the freezing temperatures but in the end the conditions were more or less perfect which made for excellent times for the two BVH members running.
Sam Coyne certainly made use of the hard winter training with an outstanding run to finish 11th overall in a massive pb time of 1.12.37. Sam was over 5 minutes quicker than his Cambridge time from last year. He also ran a 10k and 10 mile pb within the race with times of 33.21 and 55.24 respectively. This also gives him the club record which was held by Carl Goose.
We were really pleased to bump into Leanne Botwright at the start which was a minor miracle with over 7000 runners milling about. Leanne had a target time of 2 hours and couldn’t have timed it any better by finishing in 1.59.18. Well done to you both. Great running.
