The course at Houghton Hall is “proper cross country” and one of the best in the County. It’s a great spectator course too.
Sam Coyne , looking really strong, finished 1st on the 6.5k course in 21.27. Ryan Davidson in his first cross country for BVH was 2nd in 22.14. Craig Bowen-Jones, on the back of his marathon, had a great run to finish 3rd vet and 5th overall in 23.36. Faith Viney was 2nd lady in 25.49. This was also Faith’s first race for the club. Hannah Stone was 1st U/20 in 29.07 with Tara Baxter taking the 3rd U/20 spot in 32.49. Dan Porter finished 3rd U/20 in 29.58. There were quite a few tussles going on between club members with the following results.
Matt Stone 24.39
Matthew Crane 25.35
John Baxter 27.29
Jonathan Foot 29.25
Autumn Hales 29.54
Geoff Porter 37.14
Last but not least was Sally Porter, 38.21, who had a tough time out on the course but says she will be back next year.
We mustn’t forget young Joel Crane and brother Leo who ran the 800m under 9 race finishing in 4.41 and 4.50.
Bure Valley Harriers also won “club of the day” too so it was well worth the trip.
Well done all – a great day out even though we all got cold and wet.
