Sam Coyne had an outstanding run in the 1 mile finishing 2nd senior man in a time of 4.49.5. This was Sam’s first time on the track and he paced it exactly right. I expect he will have stiff legs in the morning for the 5000m but he’ll have 12.5 laps to loosen up!!
The 5000 metres the following day was, again, very successful for BVH. We had two County Champions with Scott Walford winning the vet 45 age group in 16.48.9 and Martin Hewetson the vet 40 age group in 17.26.1. Sam Coyne won his second medal of the weekend finishing 3rd in the senior men’s race in 16.43.5. It was an exciting race to watch especially the battle between Sam and Scott, with Sam just out-sprinting Scott in the final 100 metres.
The Wroxham 5k on Wednesday will see them doing battle again but I think there may be a few hundred more runners to race!!
